
Exchange Programs
The exchange Club of Florence has
three principal areas of activities. Youth Programs, Americanism Programs
and Community Service Programs.
Youth programs are designed to provide future leadership:
- Youth-in-Government Day -
High school students spend a day with a government official
- Youth-of-the-Year - Plaque are
awarded to outstanding senior students
- Financial support of youth organizations
Americanism programs promote patriotism and citizens' awareness:
- One Nation Under God
Prayer Breakfast - Held annually
to promote appreciation for our rich religious heritage.
- Freedom Shrine - A collection of 30 documents important in American
History are placed in schools and public places.
- Give a Kid a Flag to Wave - Small
American flags are distributed to children at appropriate public
functions
- Proudly We Hail - The Exchange Clubs erects American flags, owned
by the club throughout downtown
Community Service
programs promote the well-being of our
community:
- Book of Golden Deeds - Honors
the quiet good deeds of our local unsung hero's
- Empty Stocking - Undertaken to
support the Salvation Army
- Fire Prevention - Honors the hero's
of the Florence Fire Department
- Crime Prevention - Honors the
police officer and sheriff's deputy of the year
- Prevention of Child Abuse -
Monetary support and assisting with the maintenance of the attention
homes
- Support of various and ad-hoc
functions or activities such as Christmas bell ringing for the Salvation
Army
The
Exchange Club of Florence has 18 active committees working to accomplish
our goals.
